Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES)

How I would sum this game up:  Unlimited fun.

This review is two words long.

Tanooki suit.

Super Mario Bros. 2 (NES)

How I would sum this game up:  Not Mario.

Imagine your friend says "Want to play Mario?"
Of course you respond "Yes" because you aren't dumb.
He powers it up and you see the Mario 2 screen above.  Admit it, you are going to feel disappointed.  Out of all of the Marios it could have been, you'd be sad it was this one.

I'm not saying its bad by any means, it is good in fact.  Just not Mario good.

Super Mario Bros. (NES)

How I would sum this game up:  Why gaming is even around.

I don't need to review this.  Seriously if you haven't formulated your own opinion on this game by now, you aren't a gamer.

It's good.  That's all.

Ninja Gaiden (NES)

How I would sum this game up:  What ninja games are all about.

The only problem with this game is no one knows how to pronounce Gaiden.  It is pronounce gaiden.  I hope that helps.

On to the game.  I love it.  If you want to get me excited, play me some sound effects, it will be like a Pavlovian experiment and I'll start drooling.  The boss theme on this is so good, I hum it in my head when I'm doing really important and it motivates me.  It introduced the idea of story line in video games.  Ryu is, as far as I'm concerned, one of the best heroes on the Nintendo.

If you weren't a ninja for Halloween when you were a kid, get out.

Donkey Kong Country Series (SNES)

How I would sum these games up:  Platforming Glory

(I lumped them together because game play doesn't change much throughout series, minor character changes mostly)

These games are good.  There are plenty of games I like better, but I'll tell you why this game is this good.  I can play this game with my wife and we'll both have loads of fun.  She isn't a gamer by any means, but she can pick it up and play easily.  It brings a different look for a Super Nintendo game, and much better than other Rare efforts.  To me the thing that stands out, though, make you want to get every secret.  This increases replay ability and overall fun.  Great music and atmosphere too.

It all comes down to the kart levels though.  So good.
